Last week, Sophie and I made this super easy hatching chick craft! We got the idea from Molly at Almost Makes Perfect blog. She always shares easy and fun craft ideas to do with young children!
We just used an old cereal box, Sophie painted on the brown side and I cut out the egg shapes. Then we cut the chick shapes, and Sophie glued it all together (with my help) after the paint had dried. Then we put on some googly eyes, a little beak and a t pin so that the egg could "crack" and open!
So fun and easy, and we made it within Violets afternoon nap with time to spare for school work.
Hope you enjoy, and definitely check out Molly's blog or follow her on Instagram for more inspiration!! xoxo Georgina

In this very strange time of the Covid 19 outbreak we have been trying, like everyone else, to keep busy. Leading up to Spring and Easter has made for some easy and fun craft ideas. Most I have gotten inspiration from other ladies I follow on Instagram. Sophie has been really enjoying painting and helping me bake!

We made a weather graph to track the weather each day (she had been doing this in school) and she sings a little song when we do it. We did some watercolour coffee filter butterfly's that make me smile every time I see them in our window in the kitchen (definitely want to make more!!) along with other crafts.

We also started a sort of pen pal thing with our neighbour across the street. She's a little girl the same age as Sophie and from her class, and we have been lending books back and forth which is so fun (seeing as the library is closed...)! I will try to share some more photos and ideas soon. As for now follow me on Instagram (if you have it) and you can see what we're up to every day. Hope everyone is well and staying safe at home! xoxo Georgina

Potato Stamping

So, I have been having a ball collecting crafting ideas from all different sources, Instagram, Pinterest etc. Being home everyday has made it so easy to just start doing them! This particular idea I got from an artist I follow on Instagram called Molly Mahon, she does block printing, and sells beautiful designs on fabric! We made our block prints from potatoes, and it was so fun and easy. I just cut the potato in half, then cut whatever design I wanted into the halved potato. Then I set them aside until we were ready with paint. Sophie had a lot of fun with this and it was a great use of our afternoon while Violet napped! I hope everyone is keeping busy and enjoying lots of family time, but if you are still working thank you for all you do!! xoxo Georgina

Rainy Day Painting

Today was a dark and rainy day, but Sophie and I spent it together at home which made it the happiest day! She's never painted before and she wasn't a fan of using her finger but she did like using the brushes. We had a fun time and she got a little sink bath after, then nap time. This is definitely a great rainy day activity for toddlers, we'll do it again real soon! xoxo Georgina

Baby Teething Necklaces

Hey guys! So lately I've been obsessed with making jewelry, not just any kind of jewelry, but baby teething necklaces. A friend of mine introduced me to this amazing website where you can buy silicone beads and string with clasps for a very affordable price! The website is called www.canadiandiysupply.ca and they are located in Brantford. I've been making them like crazy while I've been at the start of my maternity leave waiting for baby to choose a day to come into the world. It has been a real struggle, but having something fun to focus on has really helped. My mom has even sold some for me at her salon, which is great to keep my creativity flowing rather than just making them for myself.

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far, and if anyone wants to request a necklace colour or design just let me know and I'll add it to my next order. Keep in mind though that a will be having a newborn in the very near future, so if I all of the sudden become preoccupied that's why! Georgina xoxo

Face and Stripe Painted Pots

All you need is:

-clay pots with trays
-paint of whatever colours you want
-paint brushes with different sized heads
-pencil
-newspaper (to keep your table paint free!)

I just painted my pots all white with a thick paint brush. Then used a very thin tipped paint brush to do the fine work. I used pencil to outline everything before starting with the black paint. This is a very cute and easy little DIY that I did in just one afternoon. It all depends on how fast your paint dries. I got some paint from Dollarama, and it dries so quick! Cheap too! Hope you enjoy creating your own designs and faces. xoxo Georgina

Block Painted Terra Cotta Pots

On my week off I decided to do this fun little project that anyone can copy. I painted some terracotta pots in block colours! This was such an easy project and it only took a couple of hours to do, in between drying times.

All you need is:

-Paint brushes
-Paint colours of your choice
-Terra cotta pots (any size you like)
-Plants of your choosing.

I had a lot of fun making these, and I hope you enjoy it too! xoxo Georgina
